Stop Massachusetts Budget Cuts | May 5 | State House
Please join us in support of legislation that would prevent over one billion dollars in budget cuts in Massachusetts.
WHAT: Joint Revenue Committee Hearing
WHEN: Thursday, May 5, 2011, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: Massachusetts State House, Gardner Auditorium
An Act to Invest in Our Communities is a legislative proposal that would increase taxes on only the most financially well-off households, raising $1.2 billion in additional revenue to plug a significant portion of our state's $2 billion budget shortfall.
We can’t cut our way out of this deficit. We need continued investments in our schools, our children and our communities to rebuild our economy. This will require new revenue – raised in the fairest way possible – that will help maintain essential public services relied on by all Massachusetts residents.
A broad and diverse statewide coalition is working together to pass An Act to Invest in Our Communities. Hundreds of supporters are expected to fill the Gardner Auditorium hearing room on May 5, and we hope you'll be there with us.

According to Committee Chair
According to Committee Chair Rep Kaufman, the bills are not being heard in any particular order. Speakers get to testify in the order in which they sign up and then can address whatever bill they want to. So if you are there for a whil and see that it will be an hour before you are callded, go lobby your Rep and Senator about why they should support this bill - Richard Giordano.
Some would say that CEOs
Some would say that CEOs don't work nearly as hard as, say, "those who collect their bins in the morning." That must be as very diligent bin collector, as a CEO can work anywhere between twelve and eighteen hours a day, six or sometimes seven days a week. This isn't always going to be the case. Some work for a couple of hours three or four days a week, but this is generally the exception. Not to mention that being a CEO demands certain abilities that most just don't have. Anybody can work hard, but it takes somebody special to guide a hundred million dollar company down the right path. That is why they get paid so much. They are generally the reason companies are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.Coach Outlet are proud with Discount Coach Colette Bags sale.
What about the rest of us who are struggling? Before you start feeling too sorry for yourself, ask how bad off you actually are. If you have somewhere to live, food to eat, clean water to drink, anything in the bank, and basic medical care you are better off that the vast majority of people on this planet. Perhaps that is why many of the top four-hundred have pledged to donate over half of their net value to charity (Warren Buffett and Bill Gates promise almost all of their money). They recognize the great need rest in these third world counties. So, before you criticize these billionaires, many of whom are either directly or indirectly responsible for your job, maybe think about donating half of your expendable income.
