Class Action Class Action's mission is to raise consciousness about the issues of classism, class and money, and their powerful impact on our individual lives, our relationships, organizations, institutions, and culture. They aim to heal the wounds of classism, support the development of cross-class alliances, and work with others to catalyze the movement of resources to where they are most needed to create justice, equity, and sustainability for all.

Popular Education

Highlander Research and Education Center Since 1932, the Highlander Center has been on the cutting edge of Appalachian and Southern struggles for justice. Highlander provides tools for building organizations capable of leading movements. In the 1930s and 40s, Highlander educated leaders of a new Southern labor movement. In the 1950s and 60s, Highlander was a civil rights pioneer, fighting for voting rights and integration. In the 1970s through the ‘90s, Highlander organized groundbreaking research into environmental and economic injustice in Appalachia. Today, Highlander is working with youth, new immigrants, and poor people of all colors to bring grassroots struggles into a new global era.

Project South: Institute for the Elimination of Poverty & Genocide is a broad-based community-driven membership organization that develops and conducts popular political and economic education and action research for organizing and liberation. They develop indigenous popular educators and movement leaders from grassroots and scholar-activist backgrounds, bringing them together on the basis of equality to engage in building a bottom-up movement for social and economic justice.

Tax Policy Center A joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, the Tax Policy Center was created to fill the growing need to clarify and analyze the nation's tax policy choices. It provides timely, accessible analysis and facts about tax policy to policymakers, journalists, interested citizens, and researchers. There is also a webmodule called "Tax Facts" that has a wealth of information about US individual income and estate taxes, as well as data on state taxes and some international data.
